Excuses Don’t Excuse You

When it is time to address our shortcomings, there are the seasoned mature saints that confess their faults, ask forgiveness, repent and move forward with the intent to go and sin no more. While there are those that before they can even allow their shortcomings to be addressed, they immediately go into an excuse mode. Before it is even out of the mouth, they are already making excuses.

If you are identifying with this because you are one to make a lot of excuses, please do not get into condemnation. For we all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.

If you are in Christ Jesus Beloved, you have been made free from the bondages of sin and death. But you must be in Christ Jesus (accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior and living by your spirit which is made in the image and likeness of The Godhead), that is to say not being driven by your flesh (earthly sinful desires).

Romans 8:1-8

8 Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior].

2 For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

3 For what the Law could not do [that is, overcome sin and remove its penalty, its power] being weakened by the flesh [man’s nature without the Holy Spirit], God did: He sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful man as an offering for sin. And He condemned sin in the flesh [subdued it and overcame it in the person of His own Son],

4 so that the [righteous and just] requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us who do not live our lives in the ways of the flesh [guided by worldliness and our sinful nature], but [live our lives] in the ways of the Spirit [guided by His power].

5 For those who are living according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh [which gratify the body], but those who are living according to the Spirit, [set their minds on] the things of the Spirit [His will and purpose].

6 Now the mind of the flesh is death [both now and forever—because it pursues sin]; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace [the spiritual well-being that comes from walking with God—both now and forever];

7 the mind of the flesh [with its sinful pursuits] is actively hostile to God. It does not submit itself to God’s law, since it cannot,

8 and those who are in the flesh [living a life that caters to sinful appetites and impulses] cannot please God.

Christ Jesus came to set the captives free. That’s you and I. We were bound to sin and death and destined to eternal death in Sheol (Hell). And Christ came down from Eternity (Heaven) and saved us all by shedding His innocent and sinless blood on our behalf. And once He did so, we were no longer our own but bought with that hefty price He paid for us on The Cross. So please do not “undo” what Jesus did for you and me by getting into condemnation and not being able to forgive yourself - and certainly do not allow someone else to condemn you. No one other than The Lord God Almighty can kill the body and the soul and grant us eternal life or cast our soul into damnation. So please, separate yourself from those that would speak condemnation over or into your life. They don’t have that spiritual authority.

And because we are no longer our own, though we are not bound by the Law (of the Old Testament), we are required and held to a more excellent way. And Father by His Holy Spirit will convict us, (not condemn us) when we are out of His will.

John 16:7-8

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper [Holy Spirit] will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He [Holy Spirit] has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

Remember, this is between you and The Lord God. It’s a private and personal matter when we do our business with The Lord God. A priest nor a pastor is not necessary and certainly not required. In fact, only The Lord God can forgive our sins, so confessing them to a priest is just simply not scriptural. That same priest or pastor is but a mere man or woman that needed the Blood of Jesus to cover their sins as well. They can’t forgive you of your sins.

James 5:16 - Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

In 1 John 1:9, that word sin is not the same as the word faults in James 5:16. Although in some translations both read as the word sin. Nonetheless, they are different Greek words. 1 John 1:9 - speaks more as to miss or wander from the path of uprightness and honor, to do or go wrong concerning the divine law of God. It means to miss the mark, the standard set by The Lord God in His Holy Scriptures. And of course to that we need His forgiveness. Not a man or woman on earth can pardon sin that will save the soul. James 5:16 speaks more akin to acknowledging and admitting sin.

So that it is not confusing, an example of 1 John 1:9 would be if you are an adulterer (married person having sex with someone they are not married to) or you are homosexual (men having sex with men or women having sex with women) the scriptures are clear both are sins that will cause you to have eternal death (Sheol which is Hell). Those sins require Father’s (The Lord God) forgiveness. Whereas, James 5:16 is where you may speak to your brother or sister in Christ Jesus and say, “Hey brother (or sister), I am struggling with something and really need prayer. Can you keep me in your prayers?” Now, a few things to remember:

1. Do not go to the person(s) you know to be a gossiper for prayer. They are not going to pray for you; they are going to immediately call or text someone and start telling your business (Gossip). And they will pretend that “they are sharing so that you too can pray for the one in need of prayer. Liars!

2. When you ask for prayer from true apostles, true prophets, true worshippers, true intercessors, true pastors, and/or true saints they will not ask you the specifics because they know Father knows your name and who you are. They genuinely move in a supernatural spiritual gift that does not seek to delve into specifics because of itching ears for salacious stories and information.

3. You...yes YOU, can pray and ask The Lord God yourself for what you need. He can hear you, even if you cannot recognize or hear His voice, and He hears you and sees you. We are His creation; there is not a place in Heaven nor on earth that He is not with us. And as a sidenote, those of you who love to gossip and run your mouth, until Father shuts it…and He will, He heard you and He saw you. You may think you got away with it because everyone believed your story, but you did not. You will reap what you sow. Trust and believe that sow and reap works for both the positive and the negative, as well as the good and the bad.

Here are three bible translations so that you can understand the Law of Sow and Reap. Galatians 6:7 NKJV Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Galatians 6:7 AMP - Do not be deceived, God is not mocked [He will not allow Himself to be ridiculed, nor treated with contempt nor allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside]; for whatever a man sows, this and this only is what he will reap. Galatians 6:7-8 Message - 7-8 Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.

These blog posts don’t come from me “choosing” a topic. Father (The Lord God) guides me on the message for He has for His people.

As a Didactic (instructive teacher) Prophetess with a scribal anointing, it is for me to hear Him and write His will for His people. I am merely a messenger. And whether or not you believe, that is irrelevant. Earlier this week, He began imparting to me a message about excuses. Far too many people called by His name are not being accountable and are making excuses. Simply put, it means you are excusing yourself from your faults. And when you do that, it causes a tendency to continue in your faults, as well as adding new faults and making more excuses, and therefore, excusing all of it.

Beloved, you cannot have eternal life (Heaven) if you keep making excuses. The scriptures are clear - if you would only take the time to read and study them. You would know and understand, that you cannot make your own rules and live your own way and actually be saved. This is why you are very much deceived if you believe that all you must do is accept Christ as your Lord and Savior and pray the prayer of salvation. It is so much more than that! We must live a Holy life:

1 Peter 1:15-17 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written,Be holy, for I am holy.”

17 And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here [here on Earth] in fear;

We all would do well to stop with the excuses. Because we are not excused from our faults, our sins, nor our shortcomings. Sin is sin! And we are all in need of the Saviour Jesus Christ! The adversary (Satan - the devil) has deceived you if you think you are exempt and can excuse away your faults, sins, and your shortcomings. Everyone can see you, but you. And Beloved, here is the sad thing: you will stay in your faults, sins, and your shortcomings while also staying out of the will of God and ultimately not having eternal life (Heaven). And as always, please don’t just take my word only, read and study the scriptures for yourself. You will soon see so much that you didn’t know nor understand, you will deepen your personal relationship with Father (The Lord God), and you will come to understand that it is because He loves us, that He chastens us.

Hebrews 12:6-11 - 6 For the Lord disciplines and corrects those whom He loves,

And He punishes every son whom He receives and welcomes [to His heart].

7 You must submit to [correction for the purpose of] discipline; God is dealing with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?

8 Now if you are exempt from correction and without discipline, in which all [of God’s children] share, then you are illegitimate children and not sons [at all].

9 Moreover, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us, and we submitted and respected them [for training us]; shall we not much more willingly submit to the Father of spirits, and live [by learning from His discipline]?

10 For our earthly fathers disciplined us for only a short time as seemed best to them; but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness.

11 For the time being no discipline brings joy, but seems sad and painful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness [right standing with God and a lifestyle and attitude that seeks conformity to God’s will and purpose].

In closing, let’s look to scripture at those who chose the way of excuses, and how utterly foolish they were:

Adam: Genesis 3:11-12 - 11 And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?” 12 Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” Adam’s excuse for his sin was that it was God’s fault because The Lord God gave the woman to him. In other words, “I was doing just fine until you, Lord, gave me this woman.” Adam literally blamed The Lord God Almighty!

By the way, excuse and blame are first cousins and they are very close; usually, you don’t hear about one without the other!

Moses - Exodus 4-10-14 - Exodus 4:10-14 - 10 Then Moses said to the Lord, “Please, Lord, I am not a man of words (eloquent, fluent), neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and tongue.” 11 The Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute or the deaf, or the seeing or the blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now then go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth, and will teach you what you shall say.” 13 But he said, “Please my Lord, send the message [of rescue to Israel] by [someone else,] whomever else You will [choose].” 14 Then the anger of the Lord was kindled and burned against Moses;” In making excuses, it is more than our fellow brother or sister who is tired and angered by your constant excuses. Most importantly, it is The Lord God our Creator who is angered when we make excuses to His instruction! Do you not know that It is a fearful and terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God [incurring His judgment and wrath]. Hebrews 10:31

Jesus summarizes in a parable the ultimate end result to making excuses - Luke 14:16-35 - 16 But Jesus said to him, “A man was giving a big dinner, and he invited many guests; 17 and at the dinner hour he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, because everything is ready now.’ 18 But they all alike began to make excuses. The first one said to him, ‘I have purchased a piece of land and I have to go out and see it; please consider me excused.’ 19 Another one said, ‘I have purchased five yoke of oxen, and I am going to try them out; please consider me excused.’ 20 And another said, ‘I have [recently] married a wife, and for that reason I am unable to come.’ 21 So the servant came back and reported this to his master. Then [his master,] the head of the household, became angry [at the rejections of his invitation] and said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and the lanes of the city and bring in here the poor and the disabled and the blind and the lame.’ 22 And the servant [after returning] said, ‘Sir, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.’ 23 Then the master told the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and along the hedges, and compel them to come in, so that my house may be filled [with guests]. 24 For I tell you, not one of those who were invited [and declined] will taste my dinner.’”

It is best to face your faults, your sins, and your shortcomings. It becomes very easy to make a habit of making excuses. Even if no one else believes your excuses, you will believe them and convince yourself - and even try to drum up support - in your excuses that are riddled with blame, and more often than not lies, or at the very least, misrepresentation of the truth.

As His own, we are to live a more excellent way. Please do not call yourself a Christian or a saint when you are living contrary to the scriptures. The Church has done a poor job of representing Christ. The excuses alone, that are given such as “Oh…God is working on me” or “don’t judge me, you don’t know my heart” , or a favorite “God will forgive me…He knows my heart”.

Beloved, Matthew 7:17 tells us Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. Your deeds, your words, and your actions speak to who you are. When we allow our bodies to be a temple of Holy Sprit we strive to bear righteousness and holiness and when we fall short we are able to confess our sins to Father and He is faithful to forgive us. But when we live by our flesh, it is really easy to make excuses and fall short. And none of us can fool The Lord God! We live outside of His will and we live unforgiven until we acknowledge and accept that we have fallen short.

It is important to remember the scriptures are our instructions for living a life pleasing to The Lord God Almighty. Many have made the word Bible into an acronym: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. Like it or love it, one must admit is a very wise reminder that the Bible is The Creator’s instruction to His creation.

If making excuses is how you have made yourself feel comfortable with who you are and what you do, then have at it. But be forewarned, we ALL have to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. (Philippians 2:12)

It is my prayer that you hear and feel Holy Spirit’s conviction upon you as you repent and turn away from making excuses and move toward a life that is pleasing to Him so that you may not die in your sins:

John 8:24 - Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”

And when you say that you are a Christian or Saint of God, that you will be recognized by Him as such:

Matthew 7:21-23 - 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me on that day [when I judge them], ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and driven out demons in Your name, and done many miracles in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them publicly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me [you are banished from My presence], you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].’

Hebrews 3:15 NKJV- while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

Hebrews 3:15 AMP- Then while it is [still] called Today, if you would hear His voice and when you hear it, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion [in the desert, when the people provoked and irritated and embittered God against them].

May The Lord Bless you and Keep you and make His face to shine upon you.
