Mary Christ Mas(ses)

It’s Christmas!

Not at all like the Christmas seasons I grew up celebrating, but nevertheless, it is Christmas according to the calendar.

Things seem so bad in today’s world. Just ask anyone if there is something to complain about and you will get a barrage of complaints without the question ever being answered.

And yet that is nothing new,

Ecclesiastes 1:9-10 - That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done,
And there is nothing new under the sun.
10 Is there anything of which it may be said,
“See, this is new”?
It has already been in ancient times before us.

So never lose hope. We are not the first nor the last generation to experience what we define as negative signs of the times. It’s all in a state of mind.

I love the Nativity Story of the scriptures. It has so many layers to glean from.

Take Mary for example, she is going about life, and by all accounts living a righteous and virtuous existence before The Lord , with a good reputation among the people (the masses) of her “neighborhood”, when the Angel Gabriel comes and visits her, bringing her news that she will conceive a child of The Holy Spirit , and not of a man. And this baby would be the Son of God.(Luke 1:35)

You think you have troubles?

Mary, knew she hadn’t been with a man, but who would really believe her? Surely, no one, especially her parents nor her fiancé would believe her. Her story about how that baby got in her belly defied nature and everything humanly possible about conception. (Luke 1:26-38). So Joseph had to take her away from everyone she knew and loved to protect her from being ostracized and shunned, when in actuality it was her virtue that had given her favor with The Lord to be chosen to bring forth His son.

Isaiah 55:8 - “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.

I can definitely tell you from experience , God’s will never looks like man’s will or man’s ways; to serve Him and be in His will, prepare to come under attack because it is not for others to be convinced of your obedience to what He spoke to you Beloved.

Here, in my opinion, is the best part of the scriptures concerning Mary’s story about conceiving and being the mother of The Messiah, our Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ:

Luke 2:19 - But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart

And again:

Luke 2:51 - Then He went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But His mother treasured up all these things in her heart.

Mary was a wise (perhaps that among many, is just one reason she found favor with The Lord) in that she knew and understood what had been spoken to her concerning Jesus The Christ, and what this meant for the masses!

She didn’t talk about it to the masses, she didn’t complain about it , she pondered it! She hid the truth in her heart, and in doing so she didn’t sin against the will of God concerning His plan for salvation.

And once Jesus was born and grew up, Mary still watched, observed, and juxtaposed that which had been spoken to her concerning her child Jesus, with the plan and purpose of His being born into the Earth that was unfolding before her very eyes.

Christmas means so much to so many, but when we fully understand what Christmas means in terms of what the scriptures tell us concerning those that were directly impacted so that it could happen; then we understand the why it is not a time of sorrow, sadness, or mourning, but a time of jubilant gratitude and celebration because:

1)Mary agreed with Father’s plan for salvation, despite what she had to endure all of her life thereafter; including watching her son be wrongfully executed.

2) Jesus Christ agreed with Father’s plan for salvation agreeing to pay a hefty and very sacrificial price for ALL mankind (including those who were/are never going to accept and acknowledge Him as the Messiah) and the masses, those who have accepted the fullness of His plan and purpose for their/our lives and therefore, as did Mary, saying, “Let it be to me according to your word’”.

As we exchange the pleasantries and compliments of this Christmas Season by saying “MERRY CHRISTMAS”, let us ponder in our hearts MARY CHRIST (and the) MASSES for herein lies the true meaning of Christmas because it is THE reason for this season we call Christmas.

May you know the wonders of His Love.

Merry Christmas Beloved, from my family’s heart(s) to yours,

Apostle & Prophetess Wendy Connor
