Resolve!

Many, just as myself, have long since done away with making New Year’s resolutions. The whole. “new year, new me” thing gets old especially if the New Year’s resolutions are the same every year, year after year, after year. The same resolution with the same failed results. No need to feel condemned or feel as if you are being judged, you are not.

But why go at it the same way every year, yielding zero favorable results?

The problem is not the resolution, nor is the problem you per se; the problem is in the understanding of the commitment itself.

Proverbs 4:7 - Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

Let resolve itself, be your resolve! Because all the prayer in the world cannot help you; if, you have not resolved that you are going to do somethings different.

Y0ur first resolve is understanding who you are, as well as who’s you are:

Genesis 1:26 - And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:

1 Peter 1:15 - but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,

Psalm 24:1 - The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;

Next, understand that you are a creation and you have a Creator, and without The Lord our Creator, we can do nothing in and of ourselves:

John 15:5 - “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Without The Lord, we can do nothing. Even if you think it is you who doing it, it is not. It is The Lord.

Acts 17:28 - for in Him we live and move and have our being,

And most importantly, don’t worry about things, just pray about everything!

Philippians 4:6 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

This New Year, don’t make more of the same resolutions that are just empty promises to yourself; resolve to have a robust and genuine relationship with your Heavenly Father (through Jesus Christ), your Creator and watch your life change for the better! [John 10:10 - I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.]

Happy New Year!
